The United Nations declared the 2016 theme for International Women’s Day as “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”. Closer to home, the global thinker and philanthropically inclined hospitality brand, Holy Cow Hospitality Private Limited; joint hands with a community service organization, Bangalore Food Bank to support women and children through an NGO named Prerana Resource Centre.
Bangalore Food Bank, which is part of the Global FoodBanking Network follows and replicates its global counterpart’s successful systems and practices in Bangalore. The Bangalore Food Bank helps extend the supply chain of food products past the end of the commercial line into effective distribution through the philanthropic line. It also helps to create sustainable and environmentally-friendly options for distributing surplus food.
As an activation towards Women’s Day, celebrated worldwide on March 8th, Holy Cow Hospitality Private Limited directors, Thashvin Muckatira and Sundeep Nayak along with the Bangalore Food Bank team hosted a cooking session within the NGO Prerana’s premises for the women supported by the NGO.
On this collaboration especially meant for women Thashvin stated; “We are truly fortunate to be in a place which allows us to reach out to different parts of our community and give back. We will continue to maintain this philosophy at Holy Cow Hospitality Private Limited.” The company has been strong about its CSR activities and has previously tied up with Slurrp Studio to celebrate Children’s day with SOS Village. “These are moments we have worked hard for, to be able to use our resources and spread joy on occasions like these.”, stated Sundeep Nayak.
The support extended from corporates help create awareness and validate the causal existence of community organizations. The eventful Day on Women/s day ended with them all enjoying the Scrumptious Sweets from the kitchen of Holy cow Hospitality a sweet end to a day filled with fun, laughter and compassion.
